“Choosing a DJ Service” Question:
"Aren't all DJ's the same? Don't you simply play music? Shouldn't I just choose the cheapest DJ?"
Answer:
"A Wedding DJ is a SERVICE provider! A common mistake brides and grooms make is to treat the DJ as a product and not a service. People have little or no experience when it comes to choosing a disc jockey. As such, it is important to choose wisely. You want to pick a disc jockey who will do his best to help you create a memorable and fun wedding reception.
That means you just can't pick any DJ with a box of compact discs and a couple of speakers. For example, some DJs specialize in high school parties, proms and dances, bar mitvahs, etc. Some DJ's don't specialize in anything. They just show up and play whatever their favorite music happens to be. Our specialty is weddings. In fact, 95% of our business is weddings! Also, some less experienced disc jockeys charge far lower than those with more experience in an effort to gain market share...often at your expense!
Like any service provider, you often get what you pay for! If you think about it, you hire your florist based on his/her artistry and ability to provide beautiful flowers that are arranged in a beautiful manner. You hire your photographer/videographer based on experience, professionalism, and ability to artistically document your wedding and reception. You hire your vendors based on their SKILL. It's the same with a DJ. You want to hire someone who knows what he or she is doing."Question:
"OK. So what SERVICES does a wedding DJ provide?"
Answer:
Much more than you think!
? Planning - An integral part of most successful receptions. This is your wedding day! Clients rarely want to just "play it by ear." We discuss all the details with our clients from beginning to end. Many clients are very surprised to see just how much is involved when planning a reception. The goal is to plan so that things proceed smoothly with a nice pace for you and your guests.
? Master of Ceremonies - Keeps things moving smoothly. We make all the necessary announcements clearly so that all your guests will know what's going on. You may have seen the DJ's that just won't keep quiet and talk on the microphone all night. We are NOT that way! Also, you may have seen the opposite of the spectrum where the DJ says nothing at all. We are also NOT that way!
? Disc Jockey - Reading your crowd and playing the right music. There is an art to playing the right song at the right time. Every crowd is different from the next so being able to read the crowd is an essential skill that an experienced Disc Jockey will provide.
? Musical Knowledge & Variety - Appealing to many ages and tastes. It is absolutely worthless to hire a DJ that only knows one or two genres of music well. Your guests will have many musical tastes, and there is simply no room for a DJ who sits there and imposes his/her musical tastes on you and your guests. An experienced and skilled DJ will take requests and have knowledge about the types of music being requested, from 50s/60s Rock, 70s Rock & Disco, 80s Retro, 90s Dance, Classic Vocalists, top 40 and more.? Coordination - Handling the details before and during your reception. An experienced DJ spends a good deal of time coordinating the details and working with your other vendors during the wedding to ensure a smooth flow to your event. The DJ is often the "Go-To" person for your other vendors, catering staff, and guests.
We provide all of the above services to make your Wedding a Perfect Day.
